RES Athletic Field upgrades are complete

This summer, Rockland Elementary was awarded a $5,000 Community Development Grant from Sullivan 180 to make improvements to the RES athletic fields, thanks to the efforts of the Wellness Committee. Over the past two months, the school has been hard at work bringing this project to life, and now the upgrades are complete and ready to useThe project included:

  • A 20x20 sunshade with seating to create an outdoor learning space
  • A revamped volleyball court
  • A new gaga ball pit

The additions can be used by the school for PE, recess and after school activitiesThe Wellness Committee issued a special thank you to the Town of Rockland, the parents and community members who pitched in, the Buildings and Grounds crew, teachers, and a student or two! This project would not have been possible without their hard work, generosity and donated supplies. “We are so grateful for the support of our community in making these improvements a reality!” the committee said in a statement
